Senior Speech Pathologist

Rhana is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who graduated from James Cook University in Townsville. She works with both children and adults, supporting a range of communication, swallowing, developmental, and literacy needs.

She has a particular interest in early intervention and enjoys working with young children and their families to support the development of communication, social interaction, and learning skills. Rhana also has experience supporting autistic children and adolescents and works closely with families, support workers, educators, and other professionals to help individuals participate more effectively in everyday life.

Rhana has experience in the assessment and implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including both low-tech and high-tech communication systems. She enjoys helping individuals and their support networks identify communication strategies that are suited to their individual needs.

She values sharing knowledge with the community through workshops and presentations for families, support workers, other professionals, and speech pathology students at James Cook University. She enjoys contributing to learning opportunities that support greater understanding of communication, swallowing, and disability-related topics.

Rhana enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support people across different stages of life. She values taking the time to get to know each individual and understand what is important to them, ensuring support is tailored, meaningful, and aligned with their goals.
